Δ9 THC derived from industrial hemp is legal according to the 2018 Farm Bill. Some states have passed their own legislation to ban or partially ban select hemp-derived isomers.

LD 630 defines industrial hemp in line with the Farm Bill, and so hemp-derived Δ9 is legal in Maine.

Because it's an identical chemical to the Δ9 that comes from cannabis, hemp-derived Δ9 THC produces a comparable high.

Hemp-derived cannabinoids, including D9 THC, are compounds that have been isolated from industrial hemp plants - those containing less than 0.3% THC by weight, as defined by the 2018 US Farm Bill. Indistinguishable from THC, hemp-derived D9 THC remains legal in most states.
